About...

joe p is an artist who knows well how to do music which makes people listen to it on repeat. From a career that kicked off through showing his amazing vocals and producing talent in TikTok, joe p is now an artist who not only has proven himself to make hit after hit, but is also planning to tour this Fall. With tracks that intertwine emotional, personal lyrics with a catchy beat, success is only but a given for this artist, especially with one of his latest songs, Shadow in the Sun

Lyrics...

joe p is well versed in the toxicity of a love you cannot escape from. Shadow in the Sun doesn’t hide away from the harsh reality of a love that only hurts the one that feels it, and yet it’s poetically realistic in how one can be caught in its web without being able to escape. Comparing himself to a shadow in the sun, something which cannot escape its existence, joe p is aware of how vulnerable this love leaves someone, and yet he would experience it again. He adds to the metaphor with comparing the love he has shared with a fire– all consuming and leaving traces on the form of smoke in lungs and taste in the mouth, all uncomfortable yet remaining despite it all. Shadow in the Sun is a lyrical hit, with repeating lyrics that stick to your mind and that you won’t hesitate to scream out loud.

Production...

Shadow in the Sun is a rock song, and the instrumentals go all out in giving a movie feeling to the whole song. joe p has played a hand in all instruments involved, and his bass work keeps the song alive and thrumming like a heartbeat. As chorus hits with the drums, the energy is kept even more alive as keyboard and guitar joins. He is joined in instrumentals by James Flannigan (percussions), Joseph Cowell (guitar). With lyrics he has worked alongside Gregg Wattenberg, James Flannigan, Jesse Fink and Joseph Cowell, while engineering has been done by joe p, Jack Mason, Lance Powell and Oscar Zambrano.

Summary...

Shadow in the Sun, despite its lyrics portraying a toxic love, is sure to be part of many summer playlists with its catchy tune and even more catchy lyrics that call to be screamed with the windows down on a summer night. Hopefully many will have the chance to attend his concerts this Fall and experience his talent in person! Tickets can be found on his website, and his music is in most streaming platforms.
