About...

Ancient Infinity Orchestra are a 14-piece Jazz infused orchestra based in Leeds, ‘Rivers Of Light’ is their debut on label Gondwana Records. ‘River Of Light’ is the 9th and title track of the Album, which features beautiful instrumentation and soft melodies

Instrumentation...

The track is smooth from start to finish with a slow introduction within the piano and bass, introducing woodwinds and horns throughout the 8-minute wonder. Whether it is the addition of vocal harmonies or saxophone solo the track has many points where it feels as its culminating only to continue to another high point, never losing focus

Production...

The track is broken down into a few distinct sections, the tracks floats between sections and grooves for the whole 8-minutes never having a dull spell always teasing a climactic finale. The track gives opportunity for every instrument to have their moment, introducing a Choir towards the finale to give it an angelic and soft ending

Summary...

It’s hard to not love this track, with its beautiful blends of Jazz only currently found in artists such as BadBadNotGood and Snarky Puppy. The track, even the Album is a blissful walk through their soundscape and feelings, never needing lyrics to tell the story. I am excited to see this group grow and where their live sound travels
