CHRLI - APRIL

Written by Maddie Forster (18/1/24)

About...

CHRLI is an RNB singer currently based in London, she creates a dreamy soundscape with her silky vocals and tasteful instrumentation. ‘April’ is a beautiful and serene piece of RNB taking inspiration from the season with ‘April showers’; allowing nature to take its course and let it inevitably wash away with the rain”

Lyrics...

The lyrics feel honest but loving, encapsulating the feelings of post break-up when the storm has passed, and you reminisce. The theme of the song is about a once fleeting relationship that ended badly saying “I’ve now reconciled my feelings about it all with this song I’ve definitely healed”

Production...

Produced by QTorra the layered production reminds me of “Chasing Pavements” by Adele, with jazz elements that lend themselves well to the instrumentation and vocals. Over the track you can hear a playful piano and guitar that float over the track beautifully. The overall sound of the song is love, you can feel the passion in each note being played, paired with the depth of the vocal performance creating a warm feeling

Summary...

CHRLI is an artist making soulful music, with breath-taking vocals and a clear jazz influence. Currently working on new music and planning gigs, 2024 feels like an exciting year to become a fan of and invest in CHRLI. You can check out her interview with Maddie on our website
