About...

Cream Soda is a Kent-based band, composed of three young men. The band started playing gigs in December 2023, but despite starting so recently, they have many original songs. The track ‘Mrs Barker’ is one that when it is played live, entices a huge crowd of jumping and singing school-mates. The real Mrs Barker was a head teacher at one of the band members’ secondary schools, so this song is very popular with those school students in particular.

Lyrics...

The track is short but catchy. It throws punchy lines towards the ex-headteacher as well as keeping it very comical for the audience. The band sing lyrics such as, ‘Lisa Barker do you care? / Dancing in your office there’. These paint an image of a useless and careless headteacher, as well as of trouble-inducing students.

Production...

The track begins with a strong lead guitar before the other two members join with the bass and the drums. This uptempo song has a foot-tapping bass line and alongside the catchy lyrics, when performed live it creates a jumping riot within the audience.

Summary...

Cream Soda is the new band on the block, they’re constantly writing new songs and performing them at their well-attended gigs. They are also planning to release an EP soon. They have made a great presence in the Medway area, and are determined to stretch this presence further and further.
