Goo are a four-piece indie rock band hailing from Keighley, West Yorkshire. Their sound has been portrayed as ‘fuzzy, sunshine indie punk’. With their progressive chords and catchy melodies, you can understand why! ‘You’re In Mono’ is the bands latest release, with an influence of garage rock.

The lyrics of the song serve as a response to the growing popularity of right-wing politics in the UK. Despite their playful tone, the lyrics convey the band’s stance against intolerance and bigotry. The combination of the song’s garage rock style and sound lyrics creates a meaningful track.

The single was produced at ‘The Nave’, Stanningley, UK by Andy Hawkins and mastered by Dave Draper. The track starts abruptly with the introduction of a gritty yet catchy guitar riff, closely followed by a variating drum beat and vocals. The song’s structure and instrumentation progresses nicely from the verse to the chorus, creating a captivating build-up. The blend of dynamic drums and slightly distorted vocals makes for a well crafted track.
Summary...
Having already played at venues throughout Europe including the Supersonic Block Party Festival in Paris, the 9 gig tour will take the band across from Belgium through to the Netherlands and France. This provides Goo with a great opportunity to showcase their new material and it’s exciting to see what the band has in store for the rest of 2024.
