John-Robert is a Virginia native currently based in Los Angeles. His journey really took off after catching the attention of producer Ricky Reed, known for working with Lizzo and Leon Bridges. ‘Come Pick Me Up’ is the opening track to his EP ‘Garden Snake’ introducing us to his soundscape and honest stories

The track describes a broken person in need of some help, describing his liver ‘poisoned’ and asking his love to come over to pick him up. These themes continue throughout the track with John describing the couple as on the same page but not meant for each other in the later verses
Production...
The track is sonically nostalgic, pairing with John’s voice perfectly and giving us a sound currently not so common in the mainstream, with its acoustic and steel guitars complimenting the warm tones. John has teased a completely acoustic version on Instagram which I imagine is set to be released soon
Summary...
Having caught fire on social media, going viral with his tracks and sound it seems the only way is up for John. I’m excited for him to delve into his sound and introduce the world to his influences whilst creating his own unique one
