Opposite Milk - Pink In The Face

Written by Fred Howard (17/1/24)

About...

Opposite Milk are a two-piece indie band, fronted by talented guitarist and vocalist Luca, with drummer Sage featuring on certain tracks. ‘Pink In The Face’ explores the feelings of lost love and moving on

Lyrics...

The song is sweet and wistful, with lyrics about a lost love and the struggle of moving on and trying to appear happy ‘even though I’m well aware those feelings never changed’. The melancholy lyrics and naïve melody compliment the production of the song very well, with poignant lines that can’t help but make you feel the emotion of the song

Production...

This is a solo work, comprised just of vocals and an acoustic guitar. The bare guitar and exposed melody perfectly compliment the raw sentiment of the song, and I think overall the song-writing and production on this track is well executed and cohesive, creating a powerful tune

Summary...

Pink in the Face is an acoustic love ballad that would sound as at home round a campfire in the woods as it would on stage. The universal experiences that Opposite Milk sings about will tug at anyones heartstrings, and if you’re a fan of indie ballads then this track will fit into your playlist nicely
