About...
To Kill A King are back after 5 years, celebrating a decade of their breakthrough album ‘Cannibals With Cutlery’ with a tour around the UK. We got to catch them on their opening night at YES in Manchester and what a moment it was!
Set Up...
The band stuck to a traditional layout with Guitars, Drums, Keys and Bass, it was clear the 5 years hadn’t affected their playing as each song was tight knit and each member brought their own skill to the mixture. All the members did backing vocals which brought a unity to the group and helped create some anthemic moments during the set
Set List...
The band celebrated their album by playing it all the way through with some bonus tracks at the end as part of the encore. This showcased the highs and lows of the album with a journey of arrangements, the show was a credit to how coherent the album is as a whole body of work
Summary...
All in all, this show was amazing, from the venue to the band and support from Charlie Barnes, with him doing his own set as well as joining TKAK for a track within theirs. With the tour just starting I hope this inspires the band to create more work and release more projects throughout the year
